Finland Adventure

Well, I'm back from a fantastic weekend with Jeff Scaldwell of Father's House Europe in Salo, Finland. Something is happening to many Christians in Finland in regards to the revelation of the Father's love for us - they are really hungry to know God as Father more and more. It's as if they have discovered the pearl of great price and are selling everything else (the old belief systems of control and fear) to get it! How I long to see this in the UK. The revelation that He wants to relate to us as a Daddy to his little children is not some 'nice' teaching to be added to the thousands of other teachings that you can find on TV and internet and in sermons each week. It is if you only encounter Him with your mind, but once this revelation is in your heart then the pursuit of His love and the growing knowledge of our identity as His kids becomes a consuming passion, and whilst the other stuff is great, it has little real meaning outside this relationship. To be free of striving, performance, fear, competition - this is our inheritance and I for one am sold out to know Him more and more as my loving Father and to share this love with my brothers and sisters wherever I am. This is our journey as a church together, and I was really touched to hear one of the Finnish church leaders express a similar desire to leave behind the old ways of doing church and fully embrace the Father's heart and allow Him to grow healthy church in the way He wants to. I long to see our church and thousands of others in the UK caught up in this amazing unconditional love of sonship and Fatherhood, living for love and freedom not rules and regulations, performance and slavery. What will it look like? I have no idea but I want to find out by journeying with like-hearted brothers and sisters. Although Finland is over 1000 miles away I felt a huge connection with the people I met there, and I am looking forward to returning some day.
